What is a SSAGO Rally?
A SSAGO Rally is a National gathering of as many clubs, independant and associate members as possible at a predetermined campsite. They occur roughly once every academic term, in Autumn around late October, the Spring around late February and the summer one late June/early July.
The location is organised by the hosting club, usually a campsite located near to the city of their University.
Hosting clubs are determined by clubs imagining a theme for their rally and proposing to host it at an Annual General Meeting. At the AGM a vote is taken between clubs rivalling over a particular term or for the approval of a singular club and the majority wins. This means that a preparations for a rally can begin anywhere between 6 and 18 months before the event itself.
Each Rally has a theme, mainly for suggestion of attire for the Ceilidh but also for games that are played throughout the camp.
